Evaluation of the effectiveness of distance learning in public general education institutions among students in primary and secondary grades

As part of our collaboration with the Institute for Youth Development (IYD), our organization assisted in collecting data to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing distance learning in public general education institutions among primary and secondary grade students during COVID-19.

A total of 360 high school students were surveyed, and 52 in-depth interviews were conducted with parents and teachers. Our researchers also conducted training sessions for IYD specialists who prepared the desk analysis and the final research report.

Overall, the research results indicated that the adaptation of existing school curricula and schedules to the online format was ineffective, as they were not designed or tailored for online learning. In the remote setting, educational programs failed to engage students effectively, placing an overwhelming burden on teachers that stretched far beyond the confines of an 8-hour workday.
