Study on vulnerable youth access to key services in Kyrgyzstan.

The primary objective of this research is to delve into the vulnerability levels among youth demographics in the Kyrgyz Republic while critically evaluating the accessibility of a spectrum of fundamental rights and services tailored to their needs.

The research methodology integrates findings from desk research (literature review) with field data obtained through sociological surveys conducted across all regions of the Kyrgyz Republic among young individuals from vulnerable groups. The methods used in the sociological research included interviews with respondents selected according to a predefined sampling framework. An important feature of this study is the principle of “leaving no one behind.”

The total sample size comprised 500 respondents aged 14 to 29 residing in the Kyrgyz Republic. Factually, 620 questionnaires were received and processed, exceeding the planned target due to high demand from the target audience for research activities.

The survey results will contribute to the development of the Comprehensive Country Assessment and will support the UN system in effectively positioning the needs of youth in communication and programmatic responses designed for young people in the Kyrgyz Republic. In addition, the survey will help better understand to what extent certain categories of young people remain marginalized or excluded from society and will provide competent authorities with objective information for targeted planning of youth participation in the civil, political, and socio-economic life of the country.

The study is initiated by the UN System in the Kyrgyz Republic (UN Youth Thematic Group) and the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
