RESEARCH

Understanding realities before decisions are made.

E³ designs and implements complex research projects across Central Asia, combining field operations, analytical rigor and contextual understanding.

From public opinion studies and community assessments to
experimental research and cultural analysis, we help organizations understand people, systems and institutions before they act.

01 KEY OFFERINGS

What We Do

BETTER DECISIONS
START WITH A BETTER
UNDERSTANDING OF REALITY.

1. Public Opinion & Social Research

Understanding attitudes, perceptions, behaviors and social dynamics across populations and stakeholder groups (omnibus, KAP, media, etc.)

2. Community & Stakeholder Research

Understanding needs, expectations and relationships within communities and institutions (Participatory research, stakeholder mapping, social Impact etc.).

3. Behavioral & Cultural Research

Understanding how culture, identity and behavior influence decisionmaking (Digital ethnography, cultural anthropology studies, behavioral research, social norms etc.).

4. Academic & Experimental Research

Producing rigorous evidence through advanced research designs and interdisciplinary approaches (Experimental research, meta-analysis, literature reviews, cross-disciplinary studies, methodology development).

E³ combines traditional research methods with specialized approaches designed for complex environments and difficult research questions. Depending on the context, we integrate anthropological research to understand the cultural and behavioral dimensions, experimental and quasi-experimental designs to identify causal relationships, and ecosystem analysis to reveal connections between institutions, communities, markets and policies.

Our teams regularly work with vulnerable, underrepresented and hard-to-reach populations, applying inclusive and context-sensitive methodologies across urban, rural and cross-border settings. This combination of methodological rigor, contextual understanding and regional experience allows us to generate evidence that goes beyond measurement and helps explain how systems actually function.

03 FEATURED PROJECT

Global Audience Measure for BBC World Service

1,500 INTERVIEWS.
2 WEEKS OF FIELDWORK.
INDEPENDENTLY VALIDATED DECISIONS.

Challenge: Deliver a nationally representative audience study for BBC World Service in Kyrgyzstan within a highly constrained timeframe before the start of Ramadan, when media consumption patterns shift significantly. The project required programming and implementing one of the world’s most complex audience measurement questionnaires, featuring randomized answer structures, extensive routing logic and hundreds of conditional pathways.
Approach: E³ programmed and validated the survey instrument within two weeks, implementing 127 rounds of revisions to ensure full functionality and data integrity. To meet the fieldwork deadline, the team mobilized and trained 36 interviewers, established daily quality control procedures and completed 1,500 interviews across the country within a two-week period.

Outcome: The study successfully delivered a nationally representative dataset that passed independent quality validation by SwissPeaks. The speed and quality of implementation exceeded expectations among international partners and established E³ as a trusted research partner for future collaboration. The project demonstrated E³’s ability to execute technically demanding, large-scale research assignments under significant operational constraints while maintaining international quality standards.

One of our team’s key strengths is our academic foundation in sociology and anthropology. Each of us can design a methodology, conduct interviews, and write analytical reports. At the same time, we are capable of managing research projects and communicating directly with clients, translating their needs into a robust research process.
