We are pleased to present our new product — the Youth Economic Development Index (YEDI), developed at the request of Enactus Kyrgyzstan.
The YEDI is an innovative index designed to comprehensively measure the level of realization of young people’s economic potential in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The development of the index involved identifying the key indicators and factors influencing youth economic development, reviewing both national and international experience in implementing similar indices, and taking into account the country’s specific context.
The index combines representative survey data reflecting the views of young people, official statistical data, and internationally recognized indices.
The YEDI consists of six domains:
- Professional Education
- School-to-Work Transition
- Employment and Labor Activity
- Women in the Economy
- Access to Finance
- Opportunities
These domains are measured through 72 indicators, including 11 indicators based on data from the National Statistical Committee (NSC) and 8 indicators derived from international indices.
We hope this product will serve as a valuable tool for all stakeholders working to advance youth interests and economic opportunities in Kyrgyzstan.
